This is the story of Brian, a shy boy who feels like he is invisible and has no friends. He doesn’t call attention to himself and isn’t picked for teams or invited to parties. But when a new boy Justin joins the class, Brian discovers a friend and doesn’t feel so invisible anymore.

This book companion is jam-packed with resources that provide opportunities for your students in grades 2-4 to think critically and creatively, analyze the author’s craft, and make connections to self and the real world.

The 36 higher-level comprehension questions can also be used for journaling and require responses beyond the literal meaning or the answers found in the text as they invite analysis of character, events, and interactions; synthesis of ideas, and evaluation of relationships, actions, consequences, and alternatives.
