HOW CAN I USE THIS PRODUCT?
♦ Whole Class Instruction – Many of the activities can be done with the whole class. You can pick and choose which ones you want your students to use.
♦ Guided Reading Groups – I love to use this unit in guided reading groups. The question cards lend
themselves to wonderful discussions. You can also use the fact or opinion card sorts and many of the graphic organizers during guided reading group time.
♦ Literature Circles – The discussion cards in this unit are wonderful to use during literature circles.
If you want to focus on a single literacy skill such as summarization or character analysis, there are many graphic organizers which can be completed during literature circle group time.
♦ In a Center – Some of the activities lend themselves well to being used in a center – vocabulary
card match, creative writing activities, etc. These would be especially good to use as extra challenges for your earlyfinishers and high achievers.
♦ Independent Study – Use the Tic-Tac-Toe board and have students select three activities to complete independently.
