This INTERACTIVE Animal Classification PowerPoint Game Show has 2nd through 4th graders review characteristics of animals and classify them. The categories for questions include Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, Mammals, Fish and Which One Doesn’t Belong. The game has sound effects, a self-scoring scoreboard and 30 questions plus an optional challenge question, this Animal Classification game show is perfect for test prep and review. It can also be used at the beginning of a study of Animal Classification and Adaptations to assess what students already know. The questions begin at the lowest level and advance to higher-level questions. I like to play this Animal Classification game show with students in teams and have kiddos use whiteboards to show their answers, but it also works well for a center in your classroom with only 2-4 students.

This Living and Nonliving Things game show plays on PowerPoint versions 2007 or later AND Macintosh PowerPoint 2013! This game uses Macros. You will have to enable Macros on your PowerPoint program in order for the automatic scoring to work. I have included instructions on how to enable Macros and how to play the game in a PDF file included in the download. Be sure to read them, and if you are having any difficulty, just email me and I will help you out!

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME
On the Game Board page, you click on the question to go to it and the number will disappear so you know you’ve already answered that question. On the answer page, you click on each team that has answered the question correctly, and points awarded are displayed along with a sound effect. Next, you will go to the scoreboard where scores are calculated automatically – no need to type them in! There are also buttons to increase or decrease scores in 10 pt. increments which is great for the optional challenge round.
