This interactive Addition and Subtraction PowerPoint game has 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders practice and review addition and subtraction. The categories for questions include 2 Digit Addition, 2 Digit Addition with Regrouping, 2 Digit Subtraction, and 2 Digit Subtraction with Regrouping. Featuring great car engine sound effects, a self-scoring scoreboard and 20 questions plus an optional challenge question, this addition and subtraction game show is perfect test prep and review. It can also be used at the beginning of a study of addition and subtraction to assess what students already know. The questions begin at the lowest level and advance to higher level questions. I like to play this Addition and Subtraction Game Show with students in teams and have kiddos use whiteboards to show their answers, but it also works well for a math center in your classroom with only 2-4 students.

This style game show plays on PowerPoint versions 2007 or later AND Macintosh PowerPoint 2013! On the Macintosh version you will need to download the fonts KG Blank Space Solid and KG Shake It Off Chunky! This game uses Macros. You will have to enable Macros on your PowerPoint program in order for the automatic scoring to work. I have included instructions on how to enable Macros and how to play the game in a PDF file included in the download. Be sure to read them, and if you are having any difficulty, just email me and I will help you out!

How to Play:
On the Game Board page, you click on the question to go to it and the number will disappear so you know you’ve already answered that question. On the answer page, you click on each team that has answered the question correctly, and points awarded are displayed along with a sound effect. Next, you will go to the scoreboard where scores are calculated automatically – no need to type them in! There are also buttons to increase or decrease scores in 10 pt. increments which is great for the optional challenge round.
This product includes:
• Addition and Subtraction game board slide with 4 categories – this slide is editable so you can create your own categories
• 20 question and 20 answer slides which is editable – if you want to change the questions, just click on the text box and write in your own
• A self-scoring scoreboard slide
• Buttons to add or delete points from a player’s score
• An optional challenge round
• A reset button which automatically defaults the score back to zero
• Car engine sound effects for each contestant which play when the contestant answers a question correctly
• Winner animation with applause when you select the winner at the end of the game
• Instructions for downloading, setting up the game, using the game on a SmartBoard, and instructions for play
